To many wine connoisseurs in dozens of countries all over the world the name SUHINDOL meant a first experience and discovery of the magic of Bulgarian wines.
Since its very foundation back in the distant year 1909, LOVICO SUHINDOL winery became one of the main driving forces of Bulgarian winemaking industry and has stayed at its forefront to-date. Due to our winery's efforts and quality the breakthrough was made for Bulgarian high-quality wines to the international markets worldwide. Being one of Bulgaria's leading wine exporters, with history of exports since 1914 and export destinations to more than 40 countries on 5 continents, our winery exports over 4 million bottles of white and red wines per year. We have specialized in wines, made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Mavrud, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc among others, as well as of Gamza - an emblematic indigenous grape variety in the region. At LOVICO SUHINDOL we manage approximately 300 hectares of our own vineyards and also contract and buy grapes from a number of local traditional grape-growers, thus helping the economy of Suhindol region and fulfilling our social responsibilities.
Working on specific projects in the course of several last years, LOVICO SUHINDOL managed to revive the old Suhindol tradition of producing high-quality boutique-type wines, vinified through the blend of classical methods with modern innovative techniques. In its long history our winery has won hundreds of prestigious awards and distinctions at many international wine forums and contests. After more than 100 years of winemaking tradition and experience, our company's objective remains unchanged - to create wines of superb quaity and new style, and at the same time preserve the unique and complex character of Bulgarian wines and have these traditions passed down to the next generations to come.
